We recently received a request to have the notification that is sent to approvers for Project Managed Documents to include the document to be approved as an attachment in the email. That seems reasonable, doesn’t it?
After reviewing our options, we were able to provide this by creating a fairly simple Business Rule.
This week we created a new notification to be sent to the project manager and/or assignee when a project is updated; it includes a list of the fields that were changed and their new values.
Implementing this feature involved 2 basic steps:
- Creating a Business Rule that adds an event record to the event queue and passes the list of updated fields as one of the parameters to the event.
- Creating a notification triggered by that event to generate an email with the provided list of updated fields.
We then made copies of the notification and business rule and modified them to provide the same functionality for updated project tasks.
This week we received a request to add the ability for customers to download all attachments associated with an object. This isn’t the first time customers have asked about this, but it was the first formal request.
